Does size really matter? Is this trend like cell phones? Get to a point where too small is actually hindering workflow.
If it works use it. If the sound has worked for 10 decades of recording audio it will still sound correct to the audience. Right?
So does emulation equate lower quality? Possibly its a genre question.
